As a key Australasian industry body, ASKAIC assumes an influential strategic and tactical role in supporting the Australasian SKA Coordination Committee (ANZSCC) through the following objectives:
- Support for SKA’s pre-construction phase (design and development)
- Maximising its non-research benefits – in areas such as renewable energy, ICT, manufacturing & systems engineering etc.
- Fostering Australia-New Zealand industry/research collaboration, both for SKA and beyond
- PromotingAustralasia’s international position as a regional leader in advanced technology development
